GM Models Earn Canadian Car of the Year Nominations

Envy may be one of the seven deadly sins, but here at Okotoks Chevrolet Buick GMC we can’t help but grow a little green every fall when we read about the good people in the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) getting yet another run at “TestFest,” a four-day event that allows them to test-drive every new model in the country to help determine which will win a given year’s Canadian Car of the Year Awards.

TestFest, which takes place in October, involves test drives on the sorts of roads and highways that actual Okotoks, AB drivers might actually frequent. Finally, after literally tens of thousands of data points have been compiled, the AJAC organizes the best new vehicles into finalists in specific segments, and this year we were very excited here at Okotoks Chevrolet Buick GMC to see that several of the models we currently sell were included on that list of finalists.

Specifically, the 2017 GMC Acadia was named as a finalist in the Best New Large Utility Vehicle segment, the 2017 Buick Envision was listed among the finalists in the Best New Premium Utility Vehicle category, the 2017 Buick LaCrosse was named to the list of finalists for Best New Large Premium Car, the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze is up for Best New Small Car, and the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid has been nominated for Best New Large Car.

That’s quite a haul for GM and certainly a testament to the quality of vehicles that we currently sell. If you’d like to test drive any of these, simply stop by and we’ll get you behind the wheel of what very soon could be named segment winners for this year’s Canadian Car of the Year Awards!
