Chevrolet has announced it will once again support the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” campaign by bringing a special pink Chevrolet SS pace car to the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup races at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville Speedway.
Over the past three years, similar Chevrolet-sponsored on-track campaigns have raised more than $80,000 for the cause. Chevrolet in total has also contributed or help raise $3 million to the MSABC program.
“We’re so proud that we are able to participate and contribute to the American Cancer Society’s ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ initiative,” said Chevy Racing marketing manager Jeff Chew. “Every year we are overwhelmed by the positive response we receive. Hopefully, the pink Chevrolet SS pace cars will help race fans remember all of the upcoming events in October, and remind everyone that we all can do our part in the fight against cancer.”
In addition to the pink SS pace car campaigns, Chevrolet will also sponsor special at-track survivor events at the three races, which will include special driver appearances, rides in the pink Chevrolet SS pace cars and more. The campaign will kick off this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where the infield media center was recently named in memory of Marcy Scott, the track’s late director of marketing and promotion, who lost her life to breast cancer in November of 2013.
